Our blood sugar level often is at risk of getting high as we get older. Result is – we feel hungry more times than ever. We experience more cravings, and more often than not, we often give-in to our cravings. Uh-oh those unwanted fats on the wrong places creep in, but the greater risk – developing type 2 diabetes.
We don’t want to starve ourselves, or at least, we don’t want to withhold ourselves some pleasure-eating once in a while. But we don’t want to put our health at risk as well. So, what do we do?
I’ll say go ahead, binge-eat! But always be mindful of the nutritional content of what you are taking inside your body.
Be mindful of what you eat – you can always google – away the guilt-free snacking alternatives. For me, I have put aside my potato chips addiction. Instead, I snack on Kale Chips. It is locally produced and made from the finest leaf-cabbages in the country. It will satisfy you, and make you proud that a product like this is Filipino-made.
How about trying dried fruit, too? Dried bananas, mangoes, guyabanos and even apricots – we have it all in the Philippine market. Every snack with my discoveries is always eventful. The best part is – I can eat my chips and dried fruits with my favorite adult nutritional powder. Hmmm … delicious and healthy, all the way!
